Adult Pickleball League is a new program offered through the Vinton Parks & Recreation Department that is set to begin later this month. Adults and those students at V/S high school are now eligible to put their two-person teams together (can be mixed gender) and get registered. Pickleball League will take place at the Vinton Skate & Activity Center on the Wednesday evenings of February 18,25 as well as March 4 and 11. The cost is $20 per team and registrations must be submitted by Tuesday, February 10. On the registration form, there is an area to note your preference on division (beginner, intermediate, advanced). Based on the number of teams registered, we plan to assign you similar levels of competition. Pickleball is a sport similar to badminton and tennis. It involves playing on a court with the same dimensions as a badminton court but with a hard paddle and perforated, plastic balls (whiffle balls). It takes very little instruction for most people to be able to play a regular game on their first day. Registration forms are available at the Vinton Recreation Center or on our webpage at vprdzone.com. If you have any questions on the league, please contact us at vprdbarker@vintoniowa.net
