The annual events that have become November traditions for Vinton return next Thursday, Nov. 20.

The 5th Annual Veterans Patriotic Christmas Parade begins at 6 p.m. that evening.

All local residents, businesses, organization and churches are invited to join the event.

Line-up begins at 5:30 p.m. east and south of Wesley United Methodist Church at the intersection of 6th Street and 2nd Ave. The parade route leads through downtown, ending at the courthouse, where Santa will arrive via fire truck to greet children.

Lions chili supper to aid Honor Flight group

There will be a Chili Supper to help raise funds to send area Veterans to Washington D.C. for the tour of a lifetime.

The supper will be held on Thursday, November 20th,from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Vinton Fire Station. The Vinton Lions Club will be serving and donations will be collected.

Be sure to stop here on your way to see the Christmas Parade.

Proceeds will go toward the Eastern Iowa Honor Flight organization.
