Here is your chance to catch up with fellow Vinton residents and catch a baseball game at the annual "Vinton Community Night at the Cedar Rapids Kernels." The Kernels will take on the Lake County Captains on Friday, July 18th with the game getting underway at 6:35 PM.
Best of all, the Vinton Parks & Recreation Department is distributing tickets to this game AT NO COST for community youth in high school or younger. Even adult tickets are only $7! We are fortunate to have had a number of businesses within Vinton generously sponsor the cost of these tickets so that kids and their families can attend with minimal expense. Tickets can be picked up at the Vinton Recreation Center today through Wednesday of next week (July 16) at the Vinton Recreation Center between the hours of 8 AM to 5 PM. The free tickets for youth will be distributed on a first-come-first-served basis so once the sponsored tickets are gone, they're gone!
Additionally, if your child is interested in being a part of pre-game activities such as the "High Five Tunnel" or helping carry a giant American flag onto the field during the National Anthem, please show up to the stadium by 5:45. Hurry in right away to claim your seats!
Be sure to thank the following sponsors for their great support in making these tickets available!
Ervin Motor Company, Fareway, Farmer's Savings Bank & Trust, John's Qwik Stop, McDowell's, Robert Moen Insurance, Ron-Da-Voo Lounge & Deli, US Bank, Viking Sewing Center
