The Vinton Garden Club annual plant sale is scheduled for Friday, May 16th, at the Benton County Fairgrounds in the open class building. The doors will open at 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The members are busy potting up perennial plants for the public to purchase. President, Fran Stueck said, “I would buy plants from someone locally that has been growing them in their garden, because you know they are hardy in this area.” At a greenhouse some aren't hardy for zone 4-5 and may only make it one year in your garden. There will be a large selection for you to choose from at the sale such as gas plant, fern leaf peony, monarda, daylilies, hostas, geraniums, liatris, asters, mums, lily of the valley, iris, anenome, phlox, shasta daisy, asiatic and oriental lilies and many more perennials. Come check out the selection and the prices are reasonable. If you aren't into plants we will have home made bakery and fresh vegetables out of the garden.

Hope to see you there. If you have any garden related questions bring them and we''ll try and answer them for you.

If you have any questions please call Fran Stueck 319-472-3032.
