Do something nice for your mom and the Center Point Library the day before Mother’s Day—go to a garden party. The Center Point Library building fund committee is having a garden party at Wakema Park in Center Point from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 10 (rain or shine.)

Tickets are $5 per person in advance or $6 at the gate. Preschoolers and younger are free. Get your tickets from a Library committee person or at the Library.

At a meeting April 14 at the Pizza Place, building fund committee members heard party plans include a Master Gardener demonstration, a plant sale and a bake sale to benefit the Library, maple syrup, bee keeping, butterfly gardening, and composting booths. There will be garden art vendors, games for all ages and seed planting for kids.

For pampering of mothers and others there will free chair massages and rejuvenation treatments for hard-working hands.

Enter the garden hat contest—decorations have to be all natural materials such as real fresh or dried flowers and foliage—for a chance to win a potted flowering plant donated by Sherbon’s Flower Market.

For more information about the party contact a garden party committee member (Dorothea Wood, Kim Schantz, Roberta Gilchrist, Sharon Hannen and Janine Walters) or call the Center Point Public Library.
