Title: Emerald Ash Borer Informational Meeting May 8th in Monticello

Emerald ash borer, that kills all species of ash trees, has been identified in nine counties in Iowa since last summer. Jones County Extension and Outreach will host and informational meeting concerning the presence of emerald ash borer on Thursday, May 8th. The meeting will held from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 pm at the Youth Development Center, 800 North Maple Street (at the fairgrounds) in Monticello.

The informational meeting is for people working in the green industry, home owners, and concerned public. Topics to be discussed include identification of emerald ash borer, signs of tree infestation, regulatory information, and treatment options. Speakers will be Mark Shour, Iowa State University Extension & Outreach Entomologist, Mike Kintner, EAB Outreach and Regulatory Coorinator with Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, and David Bridges with the Department of Natural Resources.
