Join ISU Extension Dairy Specialists, Larry Tranel and Jenn Bentley, for a morning session addressing two topics improving efficiencies on the dairy farm. Larry Tranel will discuss how to implement a low cost parlor system and Jenn Bentley will discuss calf management and how pasteurizers can improve health on the dairy operation. This workshop will be jointly held with Organic Valley sponsoring lunch. The afternoon program will consist of managing an organic dairy herd and the profitability of organic dairying and grazing. Participants are welcome to attend one or both sessions.
Program dates are Tuesday, March 4th at the Allamakee Farm Bureau Office, 14 1st Ave NE in Waukon and Wednesday, March 5th at Neumann’s Bar and Grill, 927 Main Street, Holy Cross. Registration will start at 10 AM with the program starting at 10:15 until noon. The afternoon program will begin at 1 pm and conclude by 3 pm.
