Friday, January 10th, 2014, Vinton Unlimited invites you to bring a friend and join us at the Iowa Braille & Sight Saving School. This will be a unique glimpse of one of Iowa's most historic places AND people! The Mary Ingalls Society has been hard at work, practicing a short 20 minute skit depicting what Mary Ingalls' class reunion might look like 30 years after graduating.
Join us for light refreshments beginning at 5pm with the skit following at approximately 5:30pm. While you're networking and looking at this beautiful building, there will be several people available to answer your questions about the IBSSS and the life of Mary. View historic pictures, Mary's diploma, a plaque identifying the IBSSS as an official Ingalls site, original tin ceilings, 100+ year old doors, and the bell that rang for Mary's graduation. There will also be a table displaying book marks, corn cob dolls, postcards, and other items they have been using to tell the story of Mary.
There is still construction take place at the IBSSS, so please enter via the door at the South end of the building. Just go up the steps to the first floor where you will be greeted by a smiling face that can direct you to the auditorium and the goodies!
We hope to see you there as this will be a great way to kick off the After Hours fun in 2014! Shoot me an email or call with any questions you might have and feel free to bring a friend to this first one to give them a taste of the fun!
