What is an Open Coffee?

Simply put, it's an opportunity for citizens in a community to get together to discuss topics that can help develop their respective entrepreneurial communities. An open forum to discuss innovation, entrepreneurship, tech, start-ups, job markets, diversity, education, economic development, and so on...the discussion is created by those that attend!

Currently, the Iowa City and Cedar Rapids area both host these type of events on a regular basis. Those involved in the 7 county, Kirkwood served region, called "The Creative Corridor," are hoping to expand these events throughout the region to reach out to anyone who would like to discuss new and innovative ideas or improve on already existing opportunities.

One Open Coffee event will be held in each of the 7 Creative Corridor Counties (Benton, Linn, Jones, Iowa, Johnson, Cedar, Washington) during Creative Week (October 19-26).

If we see an interest in the Benton County Open Coffee, we will likely hold these on a monthly basis.

Please share this invite with anyone in Benton County (clients, friends, family, small business friends) that you think might be interested!

We will meet at the 5th Street Koffee Haus in Vinton on Wednesday, October 23rd from 8am - 9am for this first one. Everyone is welcome to start by grabbing a cup of coffee or maybe hot tea (on Vinton Unlimited) and then have a seat for a short discussion. If all goes well and people want to continue meeting in the future, we can discuss other locations throughout the county! Please feel free to invite others and call the Vinton Unlimited office for more information. We'd love to have you join us! Nathan Hesson Director, Vinton Unlimited 319.472.3955
