Windsor Manor at Vinton will celebrate National Assisted Living Week (September 8-14, 2013) by opening the doors of its communities, and the hearts of its staff and team members, as an invitation to seniors and their families to experience the positive changes that assisted living solutions provide, every day.

National Assisted Living Week is an opportunity for assisted living providers to speak to the challenges seniors face in adapting to daily life in the decades following retirement. Whether it be a financial concern related to the affordability of assisted living, or a concern regarding personal independence following the move to assisted living, Provision Living aims to use National Assisted Living Week as a time to listen carefully to the concerns of prospective residents, as well as to highlight the overwhelming success of our current residents.

“We want to dispel the myth that assisted living is too costly, or results in a decrease in personal independence, and instead share what we actually see daily in our communities, which includes increased participation in healthy, social activities, new friendships and a strong sense of community,” said Todd Spittal, president and CEO of Provision Living.

Each of their 23 properties will be holding special events for residents, families and visitors throughout the week, with a theme of “Open Doors, Open Hearts” to demonstrate that life in Assisted Living is full of independence, choice and engagement.

Bethany Clemenson, Executive Director of Windsor Manor in Vinton, sees the event as a way to meet new families. “This is a tight-knit community, but extremely welcoming. Our residents are really excited to have people come and see what a wonderful place they have created.”

As a special promotional event during National Assisted Living Week, people who tour between September 1st and 14th will be entered into a drawing for a free month’s rent, credited on move-in by October 31st, 2013. One winner will be drawn for every Provision Living property.

Established by the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) in 1995, National Assisted Living Week® provides a unique opportunity for residents, families, staff, volunteers, and the surrounding community to come together to share with residents a variety of events and activities.
