Events and Activities : Kiwanis again plan \'Bring the Noise\' 5K event; set for Aug. 24

Vinton Noon Kiwanis is pleased to partner with Vinton Unlimited and Boomfest to host the third annual "Bring the Noise 5K Walk/Run." The event takes place at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, during the annual Boomtown/Boomfest weekend in Vinton. The route is pleasant, stroller- and dog-friendly with a nice downhill stretch at mile #2 to propel you the rest of the way to the finish! New direction and route markers make the path easy to follow. After the race enjoy music and fun at Boomfest downtown. Vinton Kiwanis serves the children in our community through varied service projects throughout the year. Funds raised go towards college scholarships for graduating seniors, local non-profit chapters including the Boy Scouts, Junior Achievement, Special Olympic and leadership opportunities for youth and much more. Online registrations will be accepted until 5 p.m. Aug. 23 . Same day registration will be 8 a.m. - 8:45 a.m. on the east end of the Benton county courthouse lawn.
