The Benton County Historic Preservation Commission would like to invite the public to a workshop devoted to highlighting communities and projects through unique events and displays. The workshop will be held on Saturday, August 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The location for the event is at the Benton County Courthouse located at 111 E.

Vinton Guild of Fine Arts to hold Open House

The public is invited to attend the Vinton Guild of Fine Arts Open House to be held at the new Pourville Art Studio & Gallery located in downtown Vinton next to Lotus Restaurant.The event will be held on Tuesday, July 9th from 6:30-8:30 p.m.Meet some local artists & see what the Guild has to offer, go ahead and bring along a friend!

The Benton County Historic Preservation Commission presents Rachelle Chase as part of their Iowa Authors Series. On Sunday, July 7th, beginning at 1:00 p.m. the presentation will be held at the Belle Plaine Area Museum which is located at 901 12th St. in Belle Plaine and at 4:30 p.m. at the Benton County Service Center Conference Room located at 811 D Ave.

Wesley United Methodist Church welcomes New pastor

Vinton's Farmers Market will be at the Train Depot tonight

Vinton Lutheran Home to hold Annual Ice Cream Social

Celebrate International Mud Day at Benton County Conservation

Celebrate International Mud Day by getting muddy this Saturday from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at the Benton County Nature Center. This dirty event will be good clean fun. Kids and adults are welcome to come out and have some fun in the mud. There will be a mud pit, sprinkler and several other activities. This is a free event.

Party in the Park Friday and Saturday Schedule

Tonight's activities will begin at 6:00 p.m. with the Party in Pink 5K Walk/Run which is hosted by Survivors of Benton County & Virginia Gay Hospital. All proceeds from the race benefit GIFTS OF HOPE, a program created to provide mammograms to women who cannot afford them. Registrations accepted up to race time.

Center Point to hold Country School Reunion
