American Legion Hosting an Open House, Saturday, August 3

Saturday, August 10 from 9-11:00 a.m. 3rd Annual Fundraising Garage Sale. Windsor Manor is celebrating National Garage Sale Day! Stop out and find treasures you can't live without.Residents, staff, and residents' families have donated for this sale. Everything is available on a donation basis.All donations go to support our local V-S school district! Our first 2 years we raised $500 for supplies such as backpacks, Clorox wipes, tissues, and binders for our elementary through high school.

The Union Pacific's Big Boy to stop in Belle Plaine Wednesday Morning

The Union Pacific will be taking "Big Boy" No. 4014 across Iowa leaving Cedar Rapids Wednesday to make a stop in Belle Plaine from 10:15-10:30 a.m. It will leave Omaha, Nebraska, and ride through western Iowa to Boone.The steam-powered train will make a stop in Belle Plaine where it can be seen up close.

Don't miss the BEST parade of the summer! To guarantee yourself the perfect spot on the parade route, be sure to consult the map below. Be sure to arrive early for a good place to watch. Beginning at the Benton County Fairgrounds where the participants will line up, the parade is scheduled for Saturday, August 17, and will be set to start at 2:00 p.

Sesquicentennial Street Closure Requests Map out Plans for Celebration

The City Council was presented with requests from the Sesquicentennial Celebration committee for several events that will be happening in just a few weeks.On Saturday, August 17, the Grand Parade will line up at the Fairgrounds and the committee asked for the use of 2nd Ave. to 6th Stree to B Ave. to 4th St.
