Stop The Bleed, Free training for Emergency Situations on July 3

"Stop the Bleed" classes will be offered on July 3rd, from 6-8:00 p.m. at the North Benton Ambulance, 704 W. 4th St. in Vinton. "Stop The Bleed", is a class offered free of charge to any area resident interested in training for the unthinkable emergency situation of a severe wound. Braxton Morrison pictured, presented these classes most recently to members of the Vinton Shellsburg Community School districts for injuries received that require more than just a bandaid, the staff participated in the class learning how to use packing gauze as well ...

The EAA Young Eagles event will be held at the airport on June 8, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m."Young Eagles is a program through the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) through which kids ages 8-17 are given free rides in aircraft our own aircraft to introduce them to general aviation and flying. Since 1993 EAA has flown over 2 million kids worldwide.

Legacy Project Presenting Free Local Concert in Vinton

Formerly known as the Blackwood Legacy, the Nashville-based recording artists are on tour throughout Colorado this Spring.Early this year Daywind Records released NLP's newest breakout song "I’ll Stand,” to radio.

La Porte City Lions Club to hold Car Show

The La Porte City Lions Clib will hold their "Cruisin' into Summer" on Saturday June 15th at the Lions Park. The Park is located at 700 8th St. in La Porte City. Grounds and registration ($10 per car) will open at 1:00 p.m. and the Car Show will run from 2-5:00 p.m. Food and Drinks will be provided by Back Porch Barbecue will be on site.

Local business owners and managers are invited to a luncheon at the Revolution Building in downtown Vinton on Friday, June 7 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.The building is located at 714 1st Ave. in Vinton.
