Just Us to hold Speed Networking Event

There will be a Speed Networking event held on Friday, March 29, from 6:30-8:30 p.m.Click to view FlyerThe event will be held at the LaReyna Restaurant in Vinton.If you are a woman looking for a change, a stay at home mom or someone looking for a different job, or just want a chance to share your business with others, this is a great opportunity to do that.

The Annual Relay for Life in Benton County will be held at the Benton Community School track on Friday, June 7. The annual event celebrates cancer survivors and remembers loved ones lost to cancer. The event is used to raise funds to help fight cancer and help to spread awareness.Last year, Relay for Life of Benton County raised more than $33,000 to help support cancer research.

American Legion Holds Tenderloin Dinner to Raise Support for the Legion

Thursday night if you arrived at the legion after 6:30, you were out of luck if your mouth was watering and wanting one of the tenderloins advertised by the Legion! I know that, because I was one of those people that pulled into town with my to do list and saw the sign for the tenderloin supper. All of my other plans flew out the window as I checked my clock and changed directions.

There will be a conversation on emerging drug trends. Parents, grandparents, educators, youth workers and community leaders are all welcome to attend. The event will take place on Wednesday, March 6th. The presentation: will begin be from 6:30 to 7:30PM (Q&A to follow) The event will take place at the Belle Plaine Community Center 1309 5th Ave, Belle Plaine.

GROW YOU GARDENING KNOWLEDGE AT THE CENTER POINT LIBRARY

On Thursday, March 21, at 6:30, Friends is hosting the final free Master Gardener session of the season. Zora Ronan will do a presentation on “Starting Garden Transplants at Home.” Friends, the CP Library “booster club,” meets the third Monday of the month at 6 p.m. at the Library. New members are always welcome.

Author Linda Betsinger McCann to speak in Center Point March 16

On Saturday, Mar. 16, at 10:30, at the Center Point Public Library, Linda will be filling in one of those blanks for us.

American Legion to hold Tenderloin Dinner

The Vinton American Legion will hold a Tenderloin Dinner on Thursday, February 28 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. For $8.00, you can get a 6 oz Tenderloin on a Kaiser Bun, with French Fries, Coleslaw and a Dessert. The Legion is located at 105 North R Ave. in Vinton.

Vinton-Shellsburg Voyagers Dance Team Spring Show March 2

The Vinton-Shellsburg Voyagers Dance Team Spring Show will be held on Saturday, March 2. The doors open at 6:00 p.m. with the show beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Vinton-Shellsburg Middle School Gymnasium. Admission is $5.00 and Children 5 and under FREE. Come and see the award winning dance team perform a variety of dance style such as jass, hip hop, pom and kick! The Spring Show will also featur a performance from aspiring young dancers in the Vinton-Shellsburg School District.

Vinton Fire Department to Hold Spring Fish Fry Fundraiser

The Vinton Fire Department will host a Spring Fish Fry Fundraiser at the Fire Station. The event will be held on Friday, April 5, from 4-8:00 p.m. The department will be serving fried fish, french fries, coleslaw, potato salad and a great selection of desserts. The cost is $8 per person, ages 5 and under eat free.

80's Trivia Night to Benefit Post Prom

The Post Prom Committee will hold an 80's Trivia Night for adults at the Wildcat Golf Course located at 100 Wildcat Trail in Shellsburg. The event will take place on February 23 from 7:00-11:00 p.m. The cost is: $20 per person in an 80's costume $25 per person without a costume There will also be a prize for the best costume.
