Vinton Unlimited Plans October 21 Grant Workshop

To introduce Vinton’s new Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) Grant, Vinton Unlimited is holding an introductory workshop for potential applicants. Attendees will have the opportunity to preview the application and ask specific questions. The workshop will be Monday, October 21st at 6:30pm in City Hall.Groups that hold community events, work to promote the City of Vinton or encourage people to visit Vinton are encouraged to attend.

Annual Fundraising Event Benefits Garrison Fire Department ‘Garrison’s Haunted’ is back for more nights of frights and ready to rain more terror on those who dare to cross its threshold than ever before. The annual event is a production by the Garrison Firefighters, First Responders, Auxiliary members and a squad of volunteers.

Halloween Trick or Treat hours set for 5-7:00 p.m.

City wide Annual Trick or Treating times will be from 5-7:00 p.m. on October 31. The first of the Halloween events have rolled in. If your church or organization is planning something special for Thursday, October 31, please send in your event information to be included in the list of Halloween events!---The area Vinton MOPS group will be partnering with Blessed Hope Community Church to host the annual Trunk or Treat event in the church parking lot.

The Third on 3rd Community Gardens invite you to the Fall Open House. Come see what the gardens have to offer for space for your next garden. Enjoy free hamburgers/brats, appetizers as well as DJ, Tyler Sean Entertainment. You can also take part in games and win prizes.The fun will be tonight, Thursday, October 17th, from 5:30 to 6:30, in case of rain-held in shed at the gardens.

Benton County Conservation to hold Halloween Events on Friday, October 18

Events will be held at the Benton County Conservation located at 5718 20th Ave. Dr. in Vinton.Toddler Time "Nocturnal Animals"Halloween is getting closer, and that means owls, bats, and other nighttime critters. Bring your tots to the Nature Center and learn about these cool creatures. Feel free to dress in costume! This program is geared toward younger kids but all are welcome.

Tenderloin Dinner October 24 (Last one until January 23, 2020)

The Legion will be holding its last tenderloin dinner until 2020! Be sure to be at the Legion on October 24 between 5 and 7:00 p.m.The meal includes a 6 oz. tenderloin on a Kaiser Bun, french fries, coleslaw and a dessert for $8.00 (but throw in a little extra for them if you can!)

Vinton Public Library to Host Spooktacular Pumpkin Contest

The contest will close on Halloween at which time the pumpkins will be on display outside the library from 5 - 7 pm in addition to treats (and maybe even some tricks.
