FREE LOVE AT THE LIBRARY IN CENTER POINT

Did we get your attention? Hope so ‘cause a little love, freely given, is something everybody could use right now.And Friends of the Center Point Library is offering it with “Love at the Library,” a free Valentine’s concert by The Laid Back Band, Thursday night, February 10, from 6 to 8 in the Library community room.Wear your heart on your sleeve and your dancing shoes; bring your kids and your granny; and come listen/dance to classic love songs like “The Way You Look Tonight,” “Stand by Me,” “Can’t Buy Me Love,” and, who knows, maybe some 21st century stuff, too.

American Legion Fish Fry 5-7 p.m. Friday (tonight) January 14

Vinton's George G. Luckey Post #57 will be holding their Fish Fry tonight from 5-7 p.m. at the Legion Hall.The menu includes fish, baked potato, coleslaw, dessert, water or coffee. Postponed: Vinton-Shellsburg Band to hold Soup Supper Friday, January 28

Due to the weather the soup supper has been postponed until January 28.This Friday night, the Vinton-Shellsburg Band will hold their soup supper from 5 to 7 p.m. at the high school cafeteria. The event helps to support the Vinton-Shellsburg Band. Please mark your calendar and help the kids!

VFW to hold Soup Supper Wednesdays during January

VFW Post 8884 will be hosting Soup Supper Wednesdays every Wednesday in January. Soup will be served from 5-8:00 p.m.Every week they will serve their "Award Winning" VFW Chili along with 2 other kinds. Choices vary from chicken noodle, vegetable, beef, tomato and more.Cost is a freewill donation and to-go orders are welcome!The VFW Post is located at 5999 25th Ave.

Coots to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary

Shellsburg American Legion Breakfast January 8th, 8-10 a.m.

The Shellsburg American Legion Saturday morning breakfast will be held next Saturday, January 8 . The hours are 8 - 10 am. We ask people to social distant at the tables (families of course can sit together) and wear masks if you choose.Never forget that at every minute of every day, there are members of our Armed Forces in harm's way, and we need to pray for their safety and return home soonWe appreciate the past support for all the community does for the American Legion.

Benton County Community Foundation 2022 Grant Application Now Available

Grant applications can now be submitted to the Benton County Community Foundation’s 2022 grant cycle with a deadline to submit applications by 5:00 p.m. on March 15. The online grant application can be found on the Community Foundation’s website at www.bentonccf.org. Grants are awarded to projects within the program areas of arts and culture, community betterment, education and youth development, environment and animal welfare, health and human service.

Shellsburg Public Library Movie days on scheduled Early Outs
