Breakfast with Santa happening this Saturday Morning

Saturday, December 7th beginning at 9:00 a.m., there will be a chance to have breakfast with Santa along with a photo op and also a treat from Santa.The Fee for this event is $5.00 paid to the Vinton Parks and Recreation Department.The location of the event is the Vinton Skate Center.

ACT LIKE A KID AGAIN, I mean that's what Will Ferrell does in the movie, Elf!We're joining together with Vinton Popcorn from the High School and showing the movie Elf on Sunday, Dec 8 at 6 pm. Come on out and enjoy the movie with some fresh popcorn! Family-friendly fun to relive everyone's favorite Christmas movie! Free will donations accepted to help cover licensing fees for the showing of the movie.

LaPorte City Christmas Tour of Homes

Sunday from 4-7 p.m. come to La Porte City to tour four homes beautifully decorated for Christmas. The VGM home north of La Porte City is a grand home opened to the public for this tour. You are greeted by holiday tunes as you pull into Christmas in the country at Gary & Sherry Sheffler's home. This newly remodeled home is festively decorated throughout.

The public (especially Army and Navy vet/fans) is invited to watch the Army vs Navy Football game at the Shellsburg American Legion on the big screen Sat. Dec 14 at 2 pm. Snacks will be served. This will be a great time to watch an annual rivalry between two great teams and enjoy Legion camaraderie .

Tour de Lights 15th Annual Race to be held December 15

Vinton Public Library to hold Annual Gingerbread House Contest

The Vinton Public Library will hold it's annual Gingerbread House Contest. Entries can be dropped off at the Library from December 2nd and the 7th during library hours (putting them in the book drop is not advised!)The house must be completely edible, and only one entry per person or group. The houses will be on display until the pick up dates from December 16-21.

On Sunday, Dec 1- the first EVER Adult Skate from 5-7 pm at the Skate Center. It is $10 per couple and gets you a free slushie! No date, no problem! $5/person. This is your chance to relive your childhood and go skating! Don't worry about tripping over a little kid, no kids aloud! Send us your song requests! We've had Living on a Prayer, I think we're Along now, Stand by Me, Xanadu, Air Supply, etc.

Twice-Loved Toy Shop seeking Donations and Parents

The Twice-Loved Toy Shop will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Blessed Hope Community Church located at 1509 South M Ave. Just in time for Christmas, the Moms of Vinton MOPS & MomsNext are hosting the annual event.This year, the shop will be held at Blessed Hope Community Church.
