Fresh Conversations March 10th at 11 am at Vinton Public LibraryIn partnership with the Iowa Department of Public Health, Fresh Conversations is a free nutrition and physical education program for ages 60+. A healthy snack is included.

Almost 30 people were thinking spring at the Friends of the Center Point Library “Attracting Butterflies” program by Dennis Schlicht, on March 3.Five people also won drawings to take home books, from children’s books including the Lorax, to Dennis’s “The Butterflies of Iowa.”Dennis is a retired biology teacher and long-time member of the Center Point Public Library Board.

The Kiwanis Club of Vinton will hold their Annual Pancake Day Fundraiser on March 5th from 7-11 a.m. at the Vinton Shellsburg High School.On the menu: Pancakes, Ham, Sausage, Eggs and other refreshmentsAdvance tickets are $6 and $7 at the door. Saturday, March 5, at 10:00 a.m the Vinton Early Learning Center caregivers and their preschoolers are invited to participate in a fun program that provides ideas for reading, music and movement and crafts!Please also note that the library will be closed from 9-1 on Monday, March 7 due to loud construction. We will be open from 1-6 that day.

Register for TreeKeepers Classes NowNature lovers are needed to help maintain and plant trees throughout Iowa and Illinois. Volunteers can sign up now for virtual training through Trees Forever's TreeKeepers classes by visiting TreesForever.org/TreeKeepers. The course is designed for people who want to become more knowledgeable about urban tree planting and care and will empower attendees to become effective environmental volunteers.

On Tuesday, March 1, mountain climber, Jen Loeb, will share a presentation about her adventures climbing the seven highest peaks in the world! The presentation will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Vinton Public Library

Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 5 – 7 p.m. the American Legion George G Luckey Post 57 will hold a Tenderloin Dinner. The cost is $10 and includes an 8oz Tenderloin, French Fries, Cole Slaw and a dessert. The tenderloins will be fried in soybean oil in the fryers.
