Join Benton County Volunteer Center on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 7:30 a.m. Join us for coffee and help assemble Literacy Kits at the Belle Plaine Community Center (1309 5th Avenue). This multigenerational event will help young readers in Benton County, and you can also learn about additional volunteer opportunities. The Brandon United Methodist Men will be preparing a Chicken BBQ meal on Saturday, June 11, 2022. The meal will be served from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm at the Brandon United Methodist Church located at 507 Main St., Brandon.The meal will include: Chicken Hindquarters, Potato Salad, Baked Beans, Roll, Dessert. The cost is per adult and child 5 and older is $10.

The Shellsburg Area Community Group (SACG) is having its annual fundraiser on Saturday, June 25th, at Wildcat Golf Course. This group, founded in 2011, has now invested over $90,000 in community projects and services. This has included park enhancements, trail projects, sponsoring family events such as the Easter Egg hunt and Family Fun Nights, planting trees and flowers in the community and several projects that benefited the school.

The Shellsburg American Legion Saturday morning breakfast is held each Saturday. The hours are 8 - 10 am.
