Farmers market, children’s fall festival October 8 Van Horne

On October 8th from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm, Birds of a Feather VH will be hosting a Children's Fall Festival sponsored by the Van Horne Lions Club and many of our terrific local businesses. The games and prizes will be free. There will also have a pumpkin decorating contest (entry form is pictured). PLEASE NOTE REGISTRATIONS ARE NEEDED BY OCT 1. There are a number of divisions so all kids from K-12 can bring a decorated pumpkin.

Sunday, October 2, 8 AM to 1 PMNewhall Fire and First Responder FoundationBreakfast with the Newhall Fire Department will hold their annual Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, October 2nd from 8am till 1pm. The menu includes the following: Pancakes, Scrambled Eggs, Sausage, Biscuits, and Gravy. Drinks-Coffee, Milk, and Orange Juice. The breakfast is free-will donation.

American Legion George G Luckey Post 57 Tenderloin Dinner, Thursday September 22

On Thursday, September 22, the George G. Lucky American Legion Post will hold a Tenderloin Dinner. The cost is $15.00. The menu includes Tenderloin, French Fries, Cole Slaw and a Dessert. The legion is located at 105 R Ave. in Vinton.

Community Harvest Potluck October 8 Center Point Library

Saturday, October 8 there will be a Community Harvest Potluck and program at the Andersen Center Point Public Library community room, 720 Main St.Bring a covered dish and enjoy good company and good food at an old-fashioned potluck supper at 6 p.m. Drink and table service will be provided.Stay—or come only--for the free 7 p.m. program: “Tomorrow is Another Day,” by Marion historian Kathy Wilson.

POW/MIA Recognition Day Ceremony September 16, 7:00 p.m.

On Friday, September 16, there will be a brief ceremony to honor POW/MIA Recognition Day. The ceremony will be hosted by the local VFW Post 8884.The ceremony will be at Veterans Memorial Park, Vinton, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
