PEO Chapter HG will meet
PEO Chapter HG will meet Monday, April 25th at 7:30 p.m.
at the home of Wineva Pederson. The program will be an
initiation ceremony.
Final Holy Week service set for tomorrow at noon
The Vinton Area Ministerial Association (VAMA) invites the public to attend the final ecumenical worship service for the week leading up to Easter. An offering is taken at each service to further the work of the Association.
AMA provides help to those in need in our community through assistance with food or gasoline, leads ecumenical services throughout the year and coordinates community ministries such as Back-to-School-Supplies, Winter Warmth, Angel Tree Christmas and Diaper Depot.
Vinton Women's Club Woman of the year Dinner tonight
The annual Vinton Women's Club Woman of the year dinner will be held, Tuesday, April 19, 2011. Dinner will begin at 6:00 P.M. at the Vinton Country Club and the program begins at 7:00 P.M.
2020 Vision for Vinton
There will be a town meeting at the Vinton-Shellsburg High school commons beginning at 7 PM on Tuesday, May 3rd.
The aim of this meeting is to solicit ideas for the future growth of Vinton from individuals who live and work in Vinton.
Please attend this meeting, if possible.

PEO Chapter MZ to meet April 25
PEO Chapter MZ will meet at 1:30 PM on Mon. April 25 at the home of Pat Floyd assisted by Dona Merchant. Dorla Hilmer will present the program.
Area group holding fundraiser for trip to Guatemala Orphanage
A fund-raiser for a missions trip to Guatemala is being planned for Saturday, April 16th at the Legion Hall, located on R Ave, in Vinton. A BBQ Loin Supper with all the trimmings will be served from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Tickets at the door will be $12.00 for adults, $6.00 for children ages 5-12, children under 5 are free.

Vocal Jazz Concert Set for April 16 at Kirkwood
Kirkwood Jazz Transit and RSVP performs spring concert.
Kirkwood Community College’s student jazz vocalists take the stage once again for a Spring Fling themed concert on April 16. The RSVP and Jazz Transit groups will present music from many well-known composers in Ballantyne Auditorium starting at 7:30 p.m.
Under the direction of Ray Salucka, Kirkwood RSVP will perform a dozen-plus popular a cappella works from Paul Simon, James Taylor, Ray Charles and more.
