  Pastor Mark and LuAnn Urlaub invite anyone interested in touring in France to an informational meeting Sunday, October 7 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church (1206 C Avenue in Vinton) at 6:30 p.m. Janet Tollund of Group Travel Directors and guide for the tour will show pictures, talk about the trip and answer questions. The custom designed tour will be September 4-14, 2013, and will include the Normandy D-Day landing beaches, Paris, and much more.

  The Brandon Church of Christ is planning a revival with pastors/evangelists Jim and Jan Stout from Indiana. The event takes place from Oct. 5-7, at 7 p.m. each night. All are welcome for fellowship and a time for renewing.

  Two-hundred forty young adults from across the nation will be sworn into service as members of the inaugural class of FEMA Corps at an induction ceremony at the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) North Central Region Campus in Vinton, on Friday, September 28.   FEMA Corps, a new unit within AmeriCorps NCCC, is an innovative partnership between the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) for 18 to 24 year-olds to provide 10 months of full-time service in disaster response and recovery projects.
