Final Pool hours this week & Doggie Dip
The Vinton Community Swimming pool is now in its final week so be sure to stop by to take one last dip before the summer comes to an end. Regular pool hours will be kept through Wednesday, August 15th.
On Thursday, August 16th the pool will be open from 2 PM - 7 PM. There will not be a Noon or 5 PM lap swim but there will be lap swim from 6 AM - 7 AM that morning.

Block party set for Wednesday evening on 4th Street
Join Vinton Unlimited tomorrow Wednesday, August 8th from 5pm - 8pm on the 200 Block of 4th Street. Join us for family fun and live entertainment!
This Block Party will feature a "Back to School" theme, so bring some school supplies to donate to local V/S students and play games to win prizes!
Once again, tickets will be sold for just $1 each and you can use them for everything from food to raffle items.

1st District Congressional candidate Ben Lange and State Senator Tim Kapucian will be at the U.S. Bank Community Room on Thursday, August 9th, at 6:30 p.m.

Benton Soil and Water Conservation District Commissioners to meet
The next regular meeting of the Benton Soil and Water Conservation District Commissioners will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at the District Office, located at 1705 West D Street, Vinton, IA. The meeting will begin at 3:00 p.m.
Agenda items include: approval of minutes, approval of treasurer’s report and bills, introduction of new CDI Director, approval of conservation plans, an update on NRCS activities, correspondence, and other routine business.
