PEO Chapter MZ will meet Mon., Nov. 12, at 1:30 PM at the home of Pat Floyd assisted by JoAnn Schmidt. The program will be presented by Ann Jorgensen.
Lions Clubs fund-raiser: 'Pump Boys and Dinetttes' Nov. 17-18
The Garrison and Dysart Lions Clubs are selling tickets to a special fundraiser showing of the hilarious retro musical "Pump Boys and Dinettes" Nov. 17 & 18 at the Dysart School. VPRD Halloween Special Populations Monster Bash
On Wednesday, October 31st, VPRD will be hosting its annual Special Populations Halloween Monster Bash at the Vinton Skate & Activity Center. Attendees are invited to dress up in their most creative costumes and join us for dancing, music and fun from 1 PM – 3 PM. There will be lunch specials served from Noon to 1 PM. Cost of admission for the dance is $2.
GARRISON FIRST RESPONDERS ANNUAL DINNER/LIVE AUCTION
The Garrison First Responders will hold their annual dinner/live auction benefit Saturday, November 10th, at the Garrison Emergency Services Building. Doors will open at 4:30pm with serving of the meal to begin at 5:00pm. The meal includes a choice of Beef & noodles or Chicken & noodles, mashed potatoes, vegetables, salad bar, and dessert.

Halloween fun for the dogs
Get your dog ready...it's time for a halloween costume contest fundraiser!
Top dogs, well the top 3, will receive some exciting prizes! Doggy Daycare, Microchip, Grooming Session and more!
Entry fee is $10 per dog, and $5 for additional dogs in the family! (Price includes a free 4x6 of your pet!)
All entries will receive a goodie bag, and there will be refreshments!
The fun starts Saturday, October 27, at 12:30 pm for registration, followed by the contest at 1:00 pm.
Frightenly-Fun Halloween-themed events this week
Something is spooky in the air and we want to celebrate it! This weekend, the Vinton Parks & Recreation Department will play host to a number of frightenly-fun Halloween-themed events.
- On Friday, October 26th, Hesson Shelter at Riverside Park will be creeping with some nasty monsters and haunted ghouls from 6:30 PM to 9 PM. Come out to the shelter to look but beware of actually entering! Cost of admission is only $1.
Breast Cancer Survivors to meet
Breast Cancer Survivors will meet Tuesday, November 6 at 6:00 p.m. for dinner and conversation at Windsor Manor in the dining room. Free will donation for the meal. For reservations please call Angie Tharp 472-2994, Lisa Staab 472-5255.
VPRD: Calling all resident Monsters and Ghouls!
Some of the Vinton Parks & Recreation Department’s facilities will be undergoing some haunting changes in the next week in celebration of Halloween and needs your help!
Next Friday night on October 26th, the Hesson Shelter at Riverside Park will become the Haunted Shelter for one night only from 6:30 to 9 PM. Participants will have a chance to experience a labyrinth of terror as they navigate their way through a maze where ghastly scenes await around every corner.
