HELPERS AT B&N BOOKFAIR NOV. 24
Center Point Friends of the Library, at its November meeting, worked on plans for its second Christmas fundraising bookfair at Barnes & Noble. Friends will have a booth at the Cedar Rapids Collins Road Barnes & Noble all day Saturday, November 24, and will receive a percentage of that day’s B&N sales when patrons kindly drop Center Point Friends of the Library’s name at check out.

Please bring non-perishable food items or paper products for the Benton County Food Bank. Financial donations will also be accepted to provide emergency food and gas vouchers through the Vinton Community Fund.

Annual Benton County Angel Tree Program is Underway
The Annual Benton County Angel Tree program is underway! Families that need assistance with Christmas gifts this year for their children can sign up at HACAP or call First Christian Church, 319-472-2153 and ask for LaNette to fill out an application. Any individuals or organizations that would like to donate to this cause or if you have any questions, please call LaNette at 319-472-2153.
Parent/Child Turkey Shoot Free Throw Contest
The Vinton Parks & Recreation Department will be hosting its annual Parent/Child Turkey Shoot Free Throw Contest on Sunday, November 11th at the Vinton Recreation Center. Starting at 2 PM, teams consisting of a parent and child will compete for their chance to win a turkey courtesy of Fareway in Vinton. There will be three divisions based on the combined age of the team members (44 & Below, 45-54, 55 & Up).

Everyone is invited to the annual Ecumenical Community Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, November 18, 7:00pm at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 1209 W. 13th Street, Vinton. Please bring a donation of non-perishable and/or paper products to be distributed through Benton County Food Bank. This event is sponsored by VAMA (Vinton Area Ministerial Association) and they will take up a free will offering to help with food and gas vouchers throughout the year.
