Party in Pink 5K set for June 23; all runners, walkers invited

Operation 23 to Zero: Ruck planned to raise awareness of veteran suicide issue, June 3

The Benton County Veteran's Affairs office is partnering with the organization Operation: 23 to Zero to raise awareness about Veteran's Suicide.
The event is a Ruck March around Vinton.
A Ruck March is the military's equivalent of going on a hike with a heavy pack on your back, but don't worry, a ruck is not required!
Current statistics show that 22 Veterans and one Active Duty Service Member commits suicide per day.

Ride for a Cause
There will be two events to raise funds for the American Cancer Society.
On Saturday May 13th, there will be a Garage Sale and Bake Sale from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 302 4th Ave. in Keystone (during the Keystone town wide garage sales.)
There will be a bike ride and car cruise to raise money for the American Cancer Society. For details on these events click the links below.

Vinton American Legion to hold monthly Fish Fry, May 12th 4-7 p.m.
The Vinton American Legion, 105 North R Ave, will be hosting our monthly Fish Fry, Friday May 12th, from 4 to 7 PM.
The menu includes: Fish Fillet, Baked Potato, Potato Salad, Coleslaw, Baked Beans and Cake
Adults: $8.00
Children 5 to 12: $4.00
Children under 5: Free
All you can eat, while supplies last.
The Bar will also be open.
Boomfest to be held Saturday, August 26 seeking more vendors
The 8th Annual Boom-Fest is scheduled for Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 10am to 4pm in downtown Vinton. A full schedule of events will be released later this summer.

PEO Chapter MZ will meet Monday, May 8, at 1:30, at the home of Pat Floyd assisted by Frieda Davis. The program will be presented by Ann Jorgenson.
