Friends of the Shelter participate in Cookie Walk & Howliday Bazaar
Vinton's Friends of the Shelter are offering another way that you can support them, while getting ready for the holidays. There will be a Cookie Walk and Howliday Bazaar on Saturday, December 9 from 11-2:00 p.m. at the Kirkwood Linn County Regional Center located at1770 Boyson Road, Hiawatha (we are at a new location this year).
Stop in for your holiday baked goods! Delicious sweet treats will be for sale, as well as gifts for animals and the people who love them.

The 13th Annual Tour De Lights fundraiser for the Vinton Shellsburg Cross Country and Track team will be held December 3rd, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the Fire Station.

Historical Society to celebrate first floor Military Room opening Nov. 11 at Horridge House
With the assistance of the VFW Auxiliary, the Benton County Historical Society has revamped the Military Room at the Horridge House. Bringing artifacts of various military items from the second floor to a more accessible room on the first floor, the VFW Auxiliary helped to organize the new and improved collection of military items honoring those who served our country.

Breast Cancer Survivorswill meet at 5:45 (note time change) Monday, November 13 in the dining room at Windsor Manor.
Guest speaker will be Amie Hass, Genetics Nurse Practioner from Hall-Perrine Cancer Center. She will give a presentation on what is new in genetics, testing, costs, etc.
Dinner cost is $7; no reservations required.
