Shellsburg American Legion Breakfast
The Shellsburg American Legion will be serving Saturday morning breakfast. The hours are, 8 - 10 am. We ask people to social distance at the tables (families, of course, can sit together) and wear masks if you choose. The breakfast will be served to keep handling items to a minimum. We will try this as long as the state allows dining of 10 or more in restaurants.

On Friday evening, July 17, the Cedar-Mt. Auburn Fire Department will be holding a freewill offering fundraiser at the Legion Hall in Mt. Auburn. Serving will run from 5-8:00 p.m. The meal will include grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and all the fixings as well as, french fries, potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, a beverage and cookies.Proceeds from the event will go toward a truck and equipment.
Wilson-Hite Insurance to celebrate 100th Anniversary this Friday, July 17
We would like to invite the community to help us celebrate 100 Years in Business Friday, July 17. We will have pizza from Hazel and Opal’s starting at 11 until it runs out. Stop by anytime that afternoon to help us celebrate! Art in the Park this Saturday, July 18
This Saturday, July 18 beginning at 10:00 a.m., at Celebration Park, you can join the Vinton Parks and Rec Department for Art in the Park. There will be sidewalk chalk available for those who had not pre-registered. Stop on out and see the creativity!

Rocky Railway featured at Oak Grove's Annual VBS Program

Soon to be mom having drive by baby shower
In a time when social distancing is changing the way we do, well everything, a soon to be mom in the area is asking for a bit of encouragement from the community. On Sunday, July 13, at 1:00 p.m. soon to be mom Sulea and dad Dustin, will be guests of honor at a drive-by baby shower. The couple is not asking for any gifts, but just some smiles and friendly waves from the community.
AMVETS seek community support during fundraising event Friday thru Sunday
The AMVETS will have the food trailer and be cooking at Theisen’s Fri- Sun. Starting around 10:30 a.m.This is going to be the fundraiser for the Scholarship Program in our area. As always, it is free will donation. The menu includes soda, chips, and sandwich – burger, brat, brat burger or hot dog. Our community support is appreciated.
