Et cetera : What We're Reading: Blob

A patron asked me if I read romance novels recently. I told them no—unless you count the book I am currently reading on the Libby App: 'Blob: A Love Story' by Maggie Su. It features a sentient blob found behind a drag bar who, after a steady diet of cereal and pop culture, becomes a handsome man that looks like Brad Pitt. Very standard romance material, right?

Some people get butterflies when someone texts them back. I get mine when an alley-creature develops emotional complexity.

Is transforming a blob into an ideal partner my version of a love story?

Apparently so.
