Just finished 'Poems and Prayers' by Matthew McConaughey, and honestly, he might be the only person who could get me to read a whole book of poetry. I’ve always loved his movies and interviews, and this book feels just as authentic as he is.
His poems span his whole life, some with little glimpses into where he was and what he was doing when he wrote them. Wise, grounded, funny, reflective—so him. And yes… I could hear that iconic Southern drawl the whole time.
I pictured him with his final draft and ending it with, “alright, alright, alright."
