East-Central Iowa REC is proud to announce it has awarded $1,000 scholarships to one young man who plans to further his education in the Powerline Technician program and 11 graduating seniors who plan to further their education in a diverse range of programs.

Bill and Judy Travis were married in Dallas Center, Iowa at the Dallas Center Methodist Church on April 12, 1952. The couple owned and operated Travis Hardware/Texaco Gas Station from 1963 - 1969 and then later relocated to Vinton to open Travis True Value Hardware from 1969 - 2005.
