AmeriCorps NCCC team Cedar 3 is working with the Delaware County Historical Society (DCHS) in Hopkinton, Iowa to restore and maintain the old Lenox College campus.

So far, Cedar 3 has repainted the Lenox room in Clark Hall, the old girls dormitory. The Lenox room holds artifacts from the history of the college, such as books, documents, trophies and photographs of students that attended the college throughout the years. They have also cleaned all of the nine buildings on campus, which include a church, schoolhouse, two farm buildings, a train depot, and four college buildings. The other big project that Cedar 3 is working on is the restoration of a caboose that sits outside the depot. They have built a set of stairs to make the exhibits inside the caboose more accessible.

On Monday, June 10, Cedar 3 started a four day food drive to assist families facing economic troubles and those affected by natural disasters. Boxes for donations were at various businesses in the Hopkinton community. Volunteers from the community were invited to assist with the sorting of donations at the end of the food drive.

When not working at the college, Cedar 3 has volunteered at the local non-profit thrift store, Not So Tiny House, and Camp Courageous, a camp for individuals with disabilities.
