Et cetera : Encourage your Children to apply for Scholarships

Today Mr. Tandy and I met with the senior class to introduce the 2019 Local Scholarship Program. Each student was provided with a booklet that lists the available Local Scholarships, explains how to access the program and details the application process. If your student was not present at the meeting they can stop by the Guidance Office to pick one up, or you can find it on our website under "Student Resources/Senior Resources" or under "Scholarships". Each scholarship has varying criteria so all students pursuing a post-secondary education can benefit.

All local scholarship applications are DUE April 1, 2019. We announced the program today to give the students time to start the application process, write essays, secure letters or recommendation, etc. They were also given instructions on how to request transcripts to include with these scholarship applications.

Please encourage your child to take this program seriously and invest the time necessary to apply for these scholarships. Our local communities have been very generous in making scholarship opportunities available to our seniors and they often voice their frustration at the small number of applications received.
