Et cetera : School Spirit: Homecoming celebrations include all VS buildings

[caption id="attachment_24004" align="alignleft" width="300"] Shellsburg teacher Nathanael Brandt tries his hand at cheerleading during the pep rally there on Friday.[/caption] While most of the Homecoming events focus on Vinton-Shellburg High School, the celebration also includes middle school and elementary students. The VS Middle School Band marched to the football field and played the National Anthem before the game, continuing an annual tradition. Earlier on Friday, VS football players and cheerleaders visited Shellsburg Elementary as well as Tilford, for pep rallies to encourage students to think ahead to high school and the variety of activities they will be able to participate in when they get older.
