By: Angela Sarrels Expect to start seeing some new faces in Vinton. AmeriCorps NCCC welcomed 100 FEMA Corps members on Tuesday, July 25. They came in from all over the country arriving via car and airplane. They came as far as Puerto Rico, California, Washington, Rhode Island and as close as Cedar Rapids. These members are spending the next few weeks on campus participating in a number of training sessions to help prepare them for their service term. Once their training is complete they will be sent all over the US to assist FEMA on projects that are solely dedicated to disaster preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery work.
