The Iowa Center for the Book is now accepting applications for the 2019 Iowa Literacy Award. The award recognizes an organization that has made an outstanding contribution to increasing literacy in Iowa, along with $2,000 to continue their efforts.Nominations are due no later than Aug. 31, 2019.Organizations eligible for the award include non-profits, faith-based organizations, and public libraries.

By: Taylor For the past 6 weeks, Cedar 2 has served with River Bend Nature Center, the Racine City Foresty Department, Racine Revitalization Partnership, Smolenski Park and the Racine Health Department. All of these organizations partner with the team’s main sponsor, Greening Greater Racine, which has given the team the opportunities to help the environment and community of Racine, Wisconsin.

Morningside College recently conferred 134 Master of Arts in Teaching degrees and 21 Master of Science in Nursing degrees during its graduate commencement. In addition to the spring graduates, degrees were conferred upon August and December 2018 graduates, as well as students expected to graduate in August 2019.
