“The US Cellular coverage area has gone global, and they didn’t have to construct a tower, launch a satellite or open up stores across seas. Talk about a ripple effect…” said Central Lutheran School Principal Jan Doellinger. The principal was announcing the fact that the school’s students had chosen to share 10 percent of their U.S. Cellular prize of $100,000 with a dozen U.S. and overseas mission organizations. “Thanks to all of your hard work, a lot of charities are going to get some very good news in a few days. As you know, the school tithed (gave 10 percent of) the $100,000 contest winnings,” Doellinger wrote in the monthly newsletter. Each classroom was given $1,000, for a total of $10,000. The students then decided where to send the money. The votes have been cast and the students’ decisions are: Preschool: $500 to Lutheran Bible Translators (Martin & Joan Weber) $500 to Jennifer Anderson who is a missionary in Kazakhstan.
