Bring the whole family!

“Parental Guidance” plays the Palace on Friday, February 15 through Thursday, February 21 at 7 pm, and Monday, February 18 at 2 pm.

This very funny, well-written and well-acted comedy about grandparents coming to the realization that they are not the favorites stars Billy Crystal and Bette Midler as the grandparents, and Marisa Tomei, as their estranged daughter.

Due to recent studio offerings, we’ve shown quite a string of adult movies at the theatre throughout the past three months. It is refreshing to screen a film that patrons of all ages will enjoy.

The return of the popcorn tubs/buckets/cups was a huge hit last week. Thanks for all your input! Hopefully the large tubs will arrive soon. Ask for extra butter with yours!

BACKSTAGE

ACT I is busy rehearsing the upcoming musical, “The Drowsy Chaperone,” directed by Steve Arnold. Lobby talk (I chatted with director Arnold and assistant director Doug Martens) and Fareway checkout line gossip (I ran into female lead Rachael Kramer) boasts lots of fun and laughs and beautiful singing at rehearsals. A sure sign of a big hit!

The Palace will close for movies following the 3-day run of “Gangster Squad” next weekend. Get your tickets for “The Drowsy Chaperone” at www.act1.org or 319/214-0096.

MARCH MOVIES JUST IN We'll be closed March 1 & 2 for ACT I, but will follow that with a short run of "Les Miserables." Remaining March titles include "Safe Haven," "Identity Theft," and "Jack the Giant Slayer."
