This is a brand-new Bond with love and respect for the old Bond. ~ Roger Ebert

Bond is back! Daniel Craig and Judi Dench take the screen this week inSkyfall,” running Friday, January 4 through Thursday, January 10 at 7 pm every evening, and Monday, January 7 at 2 pm at the Vinton Palace.

Bond 23 is smart and sexy, filled with exhilarating action scenes. According to the critics, this film will rate as one of the top 007 offerings yet. I’m no judge, as I’ve only seen “Casino Royale,” (which I loved) so let me know what you think.

Bond’s loyalty to M is tested and M16 comes under attack. 007 must track down the threat and destroy it. Dame Judi as M is a class act, as always, taking on an even greater role than usual. Javier Bardem is excellent as the villainous Silva. You may recall his Oscar worthy performance in “No Country for Old Men.”

And speaking of Oscar, some critics are predicting a first time nomination for the 007 franchise!

Rated PG-13 for intense and violent sequences throughout, some sexuality, language, and smoking, and running two hours and 23 minutes, this movie is not for the young ones. “Skyfall” most definitely rates a SUPER on the Mike Hanson popcorn scale, but check out the Vinton Today Marketplace coupon for a great deal on a medium.

We’re expecting good crowds, so stop in and purchase your tickets in advance, or line up early. If you haven’t had an opportunity to check out our premium balcony seating, “Skyfall” should make for a great splurge film.
