Summer has officially arrived! I’m enjoying my first sun burn, a rash of bug bites, and on Friday the kids wrap up the 2009-2010 school year and “Iron Man 2” opens on the Palace big screen.
Love, love, love Robert Downey Jr.! And Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, Don Cheadle, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, and Mickey Rouke – I just can’t wait! It sounds like the story line is basically the same as the first movie, and I’ve heard comments both ways – some like one better, some prefer two.
All agree – “Iron Man 2” is an action-packed sequel, loaded with awesome CGI sequences. This movie plays our regular schedule, Friday, June 4 through Thursday, June 10 at 7 p.m. nightly, with a 9:15 p.m. Late Show on Saturday, and a 2 p.m. Matinee on Monday.
“Iron Man 2” runs just over two hours and is rated PG-13 for scenes of sexuality, violence and harsh language.

DIGITAL UPDATE
Guess what else has arrived just in time for summer blockbuster season? The frame for our new silver screen! We’re on track with our fund raising, with just under $60,000 pledged. Sonic Equipment is tentatively scheduled to install our digital system the week after Party in the Park – please send in your donation and help us make this happen!
I need your assistance in another way, as well. If we raise that last $20K in time to go digital for the July 4th holiday weekend, which film would you prefer we book for our inaugural 3D show – “Shrek Forever After” or “Avatar?”
