Get ready, Vinton — the alleys are about to get a whole lot more colorful! The Back-Alley Art Festival, hosted by Pourville Art Studio & Gallery, is happening Saturday, September 27, from 3 to 8 p.m. behind City Hall, and everyone is invited. Best of all? It’s completely free!

This one-of-a-kind event is all about rolling up your sleeves, grabbing a paintbrush, and leaving your mark on downtown. Two new murals will take shape right before your eyes — one led by adults under the inspiring theme “Kindness Matters,” and another created by kids called “Welcome to the Jungle.” Whether you’re 5 or 95, there’s a spot for your brushstroke in this community masterpiece.

But the fun doesn’t stop with the paint. Festival-goers can enjoy live music, grab a bite from food trucks, and browse local art vendors while the murals come to life. It’s an evening packed with creativity, music, and good food — the perfect recipe for a downtown celebration.

So, gather your family, round up your friends, and don’t worry about supplies — everything you need to help beautify Vinton is provided. This vibrant festival is made possible thanks to local businesses and community supporters who believe in the power of art to bring people together.

Mark your calendars for September 27 and plan to head downtown. The Back-Alley Art Festival is your chance to paint, play, and be part of something truly special in Vinton!
