Clear your calendars – the Palace is stacked this weekend!
MAIN FEATURE
“I Am Number Four” plays Friday, April 1 through Thursday, April 7 at 7 p.m. nightly and Monday, April 4 at 2 p.m. Rated PG-13 for violence and language, and running 110 minutes, this movie should appeal to both “Twilight” and “Harry Potter” fans. Nine aliens from the planet Mogador travel across the galaxy to take refuge on earth. Alex Pettyfer stars as alien Number Four, who likes pretty earthling Sarah (Dianna Agron). FYI - Dianna Agron is Quinn Fabray on “Glee.” One of our favorite Palace volunteers has already seen this movie. Mary Hanson and her daughter, Alyssa, really enjoyed “I Am Number Four.” Mary predicts several sequels – Number 5, 6, 7….. THREE DAYS ONLY “Cedar Rapids,” set in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, but filmed in Ann Arbor, Michigan, plays in late shows and matinees THREE DAYS ONLY, on Friday and Saturday, April 1 and 2 at 9 p.m. and Sunday, April 3 at 2 p.m. “You might be making the mistake of thinking of Cedar Rapids as a town. In "Cedar Rapids," a sweet comedy with a dirty mind, it is a metropolis, a sinkhole of sex, sin and high living at an annual insurance industry convention.” ~ Roger Ebert I’m not sure I think of Cedar Rapids as a town or a metropolis, but I definitely need to attend more insurance conventions! Several patrons have asked for this movie, and I, too am interested. “Cedar Rapids” garnered critical acclaim and interest at the 2011 Sundance Festival. A wholesome and naive small-town Wisconsin man (Ed Helms, “The Office”) travels to big city Cedar Rapids, Iowa to represent his company at a regional insurance conference. This movie features a brilliant comedic ensemble cast, including Helms, Sigourney Weaver, Alia Shawkat, John C. Reilly, Rob Corddry, and Anne Heche. “Cedar Rapids” runs 86 minutes and is rated R for crude and sexual content, language and drug use. You must be 17 years of age or with a parent or guardian to see this film. FREE LARGE POPCORN FOR EVERYONE WHO BUYS TICKETS TO BOTH SHOWS ON FRIDAY OR SATURDAY NIGHT! Show your blue tickets at the counter. See you at the movies!
