Showings are every day at 7pm, plus Saturday, Dec 30th at 3pm, Monday, January 1st at 2pm, and Monday, January 8th at 2pm.Cocowill be shown in 3D, with 2D showings every Sunday and Tuesday. Miguel is a young boy living with his elderly grandmother, Coco. The family operates a stable shoemaking business, and has a strange rule against music. Coco wants nothing more than to be a musician like the famed Ernesto de la Cruz, but his family will not allow it. He cannot get enough of the deceased musicians music, and even believes that he his related to him.
Against their wishes, Miguel signs up for a music contest and steals Ernesto's guitar from his mausoleum. Instead of participating in the contest, Miguel realizes that he has become invisible to all living people! He has somehow been transported to the world of a the dead, a colorful world of ancestors and skeletons based on the Latin holidayDíade los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. Now Miguel is on a quest to find his true relatives. However, because he stole from the deceased, he cannot simply go back to the land of the living. If he doesn't complete his task, Miguel will be stuck in the land of the dead, forever!
Cocohas been widely received by critics and audiences, and has already become the highest grossing movie ever in Mexico. It has been nominated for a whopping 47 film awards, including a Golden Globe for 'Best Animated Feature Film" and "Best Original Song."
