Spanning 17 years, The Fast and the Furious films have engrossed millions of viewers around the world. The latest film, The Fate of the Furious, did not disappoint. Playing Friday, May 19 through Thursday, May 25 at 7 pm, and Monday, May 22 at 2 pm, this Furious action flick is best served up with a large popcorn and a jolt of caffeine. Last month Fate (or F8 for short) set a new record for the highest grossing opening weekend of all time ($532 million)! It is the eighth installment in The Fast and the Furious franchise. The film stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris 'Ludacris' Bridges, Scott Eastwood, Nathalie Emmanuel, Elsa Pataky, Kurt Russell and Charlize Theron. The Fate of the Furious follows Dominic Toretto (Diesel), who has settled down with his wife Letty (Rodriguez), until cyberterrorist Cipher (Theron) coerces him into working for her and turns him against his team, forcing them to find Dom and take down Cipher. Charlize Theron shines as Cipher. This villain is the queen of blackmail, using a hostage that Dom didn't even know existed to bring him to his knees. As Dom tries to figure out how to safely get away from Cipher, the rest of his team is figuring out how to stop him. Loyalties switch back and forth as everyone does what they can to take down Cipher once and for all. F8 keeps with the franchise trend of filming in exotic locales, with scenes filmed in Iceland, Cuba, Atlanta, Cleveland, and NYC, and other scenes set in Berlin and Russia. The Fate of the Furious is rated PG-13 for prolonged sequences of violence and destruction, suggestive content, and language. It will be shown in 2D. JUNE June is going to be HUGE at the Palace.
