By Rose Trafford, Vinton Palace Three lifelong friends, three lifetimes of working hard, three well-deserved pensions...wait, no pensions?? Going in Style plays the Palace Friday, May 12 through Thursday May 18 at 7 pm, and Monday, May 15 at 2 pm. Joe (Michael Caine), Willie (Morgan Freeman), and Albert (Alan Arkin) are men that have worked together and been friends their whole lives. They've been there for all life's major occasions- weddings, births, graduations- and are looking forward to enjoying retirement together. With one fail swoop, their company restructures and their pensions are lost. Inspired by a bank robbery that Joe witnessed firsthand, the friends make a plan to rob a bank and take back the pensions that are rightfully theirs. Hilarity ensues as these three senior citizens soon understand that their age (and innocence) is against them more than they realized. A "practice" heist at a local grocery store leaves the men running from a security guard and scarcely able to catch their breath- not to mention the stolen flour that ends up all over the floors. The trio will soon enlist a more useful aid- Joe's ex son-in-law, who is a criminal working in a pet store. With the help of a "professional", will Joe, Willie, and Albert actually be able to pull it off? And if they do.. will they get caught? Going in Style is loosely based on the 1979 film of the same name. It is rated PG-13 for drug content, language, and some suggestive material. "Freeman, Caine, and Arkin's average age might be 82, but they prove that they still have lots to teach younger actors about comedic timing, charm, and on-screen camaraderie in this feel-good remake." -Sandie Angulo Chen, Common Sense Media JUNE June is going to be HUGE at the Palace. Guardians of the Galaxy, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul," Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Lies, and The Mummy - tickets available online and at the Box Office soon!
