It’s good cop, bad cop at the Palace this week, when “The Other Guys” opens Friday, September 3 and plays through Thursday, September 9 at 7 p.m. nightly, with a Late Show at 9 p.m. on Saturday, September 4 and a Matinee on Labor Day at 2 p.m.
What a talent line-up, with Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg as the other guys – you know, those paper pushing desk cops who never quite make it to the street. And Samuel L. Jackson and Dwayne Johnson – the muscle bound, tough guy super cops, roaring through the boroughs of New York bringing down the bad guys.
Michael Keaton plays gruff Capt. Gene Mauch, who moonlights as a manager at Bed, Bath and Beyond so he can put his bisexual DJ son through college. Now, that’s funny!
Running 107 hilarious minutes, and rated PG-13 for crude and sexual content, language, violence and some drug material, “The Other Guys” is a perfect night out. Get a sitter for the kids. Tickets are just $2! What are you waiting for??!
I-I-I-O-O-O-W-W-W-A-A-A-A

The stack is back! A late addition to our September calendar – “The Expendables,” rated R, will play on September 10, 11, and 12 at 9 p.m., , p.m., and 2 p.m., respectively.
Frank our booker did some wheeling and dealing with the movie studios to bring in this movie (you know, the one with all those old guys!) for three days only. Make plans to see it – I heard it’s “totally awesome!” (Patrick Horst, UNI sophomore)
ECLIPSE UPDATE
Wow! Thanks, ladies, for the biggest response ever to a question posed in this column! I just love getting all those emails. (Somebody besides my mom actually reads my column!)
I’ve let Frank know we still want “Eclipse,” and I’ll see you all in October. And, just because you’ve waited so patiently to get your Twilight fix at the Palace, for this movie only, I’ll hold seats for groups of 16 or more when you call in to make your reservations. TWILIGHT PARTY at the Palace! Woo Hoo!
