Remember, you only have two more chances to catch “HOME 3D – tonight and Wednesday at 7 pm!” This animated delight has drawn big crowds for every showing.

THE BRINTON SILENT FILM PROJECT featuring Red Cedar Chamber Music takes both the stage and screen on Thursday at 7 PM. Gerald and I had a chance to meet with John Hegarty, who portrays film archivist Frank Brinton, and film owner and historian, Michael Zahs, last evening in preparation for Thursday’s event. This one-of -a-kind production promises to both entertain and inform.

While Hegarty and Zahs have actively been promoting and showing their silent film project across the state of Iowa in libraries and other community venues, the Palace Theatre will be the first big screen to showcase the production. The restored silent films, dramas and comedies, special effects and magic, appear remarkably crisp on the Palace silver screen.

Gerald and I received just a tease of information regarding the presentation from the two visiting historians, and look forward to meeting the three musicians, flutist Jan Boland, guitarist John Dowdall and cellist Carey Bostian, who will bring life to the silent movies for the first time in more than 100 years.

We hope you’ll join us for this unique event. Tickets are $10 at the door or online at www.vintonpalace.org. FYI – online fees have been removed for this special showing.
