Another action thriller this week when “SALT” opens Friday, August 27, and plays the Palace through Thursday, September 2 at 7 pm every night. Also scheduled – a Late Show at 9 pm on Saturday, August 28, and our regular Monday Matinee, on August 30 at 2 pm.
Angelina Jolie is CIA agent Evelyn Salt, accused of being a Russian spy, on a mission to prove her innocence.
Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence, this movie is 100 minutes of non-stop Angelina action! (And not for impressionable youth or the very squeamish!)
SEPTEMBER
We’ve been waiting impatiently for our September schedule, and it’s finally here! The fun begins with “The Other Guys” on September 3, and continues with “Nanny McPhee Returns” on the 10th, “Avatar” in 3D on the 17th and “Eat Pray Love” on the 24th.
What else is on tap? COLLEGE FOOTBALL! IA vs Eastern IL on September 4 at 11 am, IA vs ISU on September 11 at 2:30 pm, IA vs Arizona at 9:30 pm on September 18, and finally, ISU vs UNI on September 25.
There is no charge for football at the Palace Theatre. However, we do encourage fans to make a generous donation to our Chair Club fund! Imagine watching the big game in brand new stadium seating on the big screen!
ECLIPSE
Edward Jacob Bella fans are sure to be disappointed with this month’s schedule. Send your complaints to Summit Entertainment, the only movie company that categorizes our $2 cinema as a sub-run theatre. That means no “Eclipse” available to us until October. Is it still worth getting, girls? Let me know.
