The next Act 1 production contains several characters, but just two actors.

Jim Hilliard and April Seitz will perform the play "Dates with a Nut," beginning March 5.

About the play:

Written by Thomas P. Johnson, founder of both the Old Creamery Theatre and the Iowa Theatre Artists Company, and his wife, popular area professional actress Meg Merckens, the play has been staged by the couple in four different productions in both Iowa and Wisconsin. This production marks the first time the play will be produced without Meg featured in the starring role. A lonely widower seeking companionship decides to give Internet dating a try and finds a cafe waitress to be his "wing man." The hilarious results leave him reeling by the outrageously funny characters he finds himself paired with. It’s a comic tour de force for an actress playing four different roles and an actor cast as her long suffering straight man.

Hilliard plays the role of the widow struggling in his dating life. Seitz plays all of the female roles, including the woman he dates as well as the waitress trying to help.

Director: Steve Arnold

Performance Dates: March 5th thru 8th at the Palace Theatre in Vinton, Iowa.
