“…a '70s crime romp that's ridiculously entertaining in all the best ways.” Christy Lemir

We’ve enjoyed some beautiful and disturbing films the past few weeks with “Nebraska” and “August: Osage County,” but do look forward to lightening the mood with the last of our Oscar movies – “American Hustle.”

Opening Friday, March 21 and playing the Palace every evening at 7 pm, and Monday at 2 pm, through Thursday, March 27, “American Hustle” is rated R for pervasive language, some sexual content, and violence. This movie runs 138 minutes. Hustle is based, sort of, on the FBI ABSCAM operation of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Two con artists, Christian Bale and Amy Adams, are forced by Bradley Cooper, an FBI agent, to set up an elaborate sting operation on corrupt politicians, including the mayor of Camden, New Jersey, played by Jeremy Renner. Jennifer Lawrence plays the unpredictable wife of Bale's character.

All four main characters were nominated for Academy Awards.

Critic Richard Roeper of the Chicago Sun times called “American Hustle” the most entertaining film of the year, and gave it an A+. Come check it out for yourself at the Palace!

SERVER UPDATE

While you may not have appreciated your unsolicited bathroom breaks at the Palace the past few weeks while we’ve been trouble-shooting the server problem (and when I say “we,” of course I mean Gerald, and Sonic Equipment), we are grateful for your patience.

Replacing the hard drive for the processor did not do the trick, so per Sonic’s advice we’ve now ordered a new memory card. Fingers crossed for a smooth run this week!
