ADULTS ONLY at the Palace this weekend! “The Heat” plays Friday, August 2 through Thursday, August 8 at 7 pm, with a Late Show on Saturday, August 3 at 9:15 pm, and a 2 pm Matinee on Monday, August 5.

Two brilliant comedic actresses headline this hilarious buddy cop flick, Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy. Almost every review I’ve read recommended seeing this movie if for no other reason than the pleasure of enjoying this amazing female duo at work.

“The Heat” is rated R for crude and raunchy behavior, mostly language. Kids-in-mind.com gave it a 6-6-10 on the sex, violence, profanity scale.

While trolling Facebook today, I was pleased and amused to see more than one public summons to join their “Heat” party at the Palace. We anticipate big crowds, so plan accordingly. Purchase your tickets in advance online (www.vintonpalace.org) or at the box office.

As our regular Palace patrons know, this movie (think “Bridesmaids,” “Knocked Up,” “Hangover”) is not our usual fare. However, per your requests I went off plan and asked Frank to add it to our August schedule. Date Night, Girls Night Out, Couples Retreat – don’t miss this limited opportunity to LOL with your besties.
