Last Thursday, Governor Kim Reynolds made a stop in Vinton to visit Ideal Industries. Ideal Industries is a metal fabricator that creates metal parts and assemblies for the food, pharmaceutical, agricultural, construction, mining, and industrial equipment industries.

Karrick finds her Niche in Downtown Vinton

On July 1, Colleen Karrick will mark her third anniversary managing the Niche. It will also mark her 1st month as the official owner of the business. Karrick found herself unceremoniously in need of a new job following the fire at Clingman Pharmacy a little more than four years ago.

Seven months ago, Sue Hart was just walking by Brickside on her way to the pharmacy, when the shop caught her eye. Having worked in a tea room with her sister in Ottumwa, she thought, "I have GOT to check this out!" She said when she first walked in her mouth dropped open and she wanted to know "When did YOU get here???!" As they say, the rest is history.
