 After a week off to celebrate Mother’s Day, racing action will return in a big way this Sunday, May 19 at Benton County Speedway. IMCA weekly racing resumes Sunday and will be joined by the second appearance of the season by the Pro Late Model Tour. Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds presented by Wright Way Trailers, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars presented by Christie Door Company, Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks presented by iHeart Radio and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts will resume their weekly points battles.

Paul Nienhiser knows his way around Benton County Speedway. The Chapin, Ill., driver topped the 25-lap special event for the Sprint Invaders Sunday night for his second win at The Bullring. Pole-sitter Hienhiser led the 18-car field at the drop of the green and then paced the field throughout the event to seal the victory. Ryan Bunton stayed close and occasionally applied pressure to the race leader, but settled for second at the line.

The Sprint Invaders are back. Benton County Speedway hosts the 360 Sprints this Sunday, May 5, in the first of two scheduled appearances this season at The Bullring. The popular winged sprint car tour will join the second night of IMCA Weekly Racing for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds presented by Wright Way Trailers, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars presented by Christie Door Company, Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks presented by iHeart Radio and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts.

 Following an exciting opener this past weekend, the IMCA Weekly Racing season will continue this Sunday, April 28 at Benton County Speedway. The five weekly classes will be joined by INEX Legends and American Iron Racing Series (A.I.R.S.) in their first appearances of the season at The Bullring. Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds presented by Wright Way Trailers, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars presented by Christie Door Company, Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks presented by iHeart Radio and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts will all be in action for their second night of weekly points racing.

 The season opener at Benton County Speedway is fast approaching with the first green flag of the season set to wave Sunday, April 21. Weekly points battles will begin for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts. The Pro Late Model Tour will join opening night action at The Bullring.

Four early season champions will be crowned when Benton County Speedway hosts the fifth and final night of IMCA Frostbuster Week on April 7. Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for $750 and both Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $500 to win Sunday night at The Bullring.

Don Logan of Van Horne was honored with the prestigious Bernie Saggau Award of Merit presented by the Iowa High School Athletic Association (IHSAA).
